Beverley is a registered psychotherapist  with a Masters degree in Counselling Psychology, a BA in Psychology, and an Early Childhood Education Diploma. She is registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. Coverage may be available on private health insurance plans. She has extensive training in Traumatic Incident Reduction and Life Stress Reduction and is a Certified TIR Facilitator and a Certified LSR Facilitator.  Beverley also has extensive training with the Canadian Association for Sandplay Therapy (CAST), which is a member of the International Society for Sandplay Therapy (ISST), and the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.
Beverley had her clinical placement at the Phoenix Centre for Children and Families in Renfrew. She provided sand tray work with symbolic figures,  and led social skills groups for children with severe emotional and behavioural issues, who attended a treatment classroom. She provides therapy for children and youth in her private practice concerning loss, abuse, trauma, relationship or attachment issues, which often exhibit in difficult behaviours. Also available are: parenting assistance, family counselling, and couples counselling. In couples counselling she uses the Solution Focused approach or the Developmental Model of Couple's Therapy which helps the couple communicate in healthier ways.

Beverley also helps individual  adults with personal or work related concerns.  She has assisted adults with many mental health issues, or concerns, such as depression, anxiety, family issues, parenting, loss, work, or romantic relationships. She has also assisted people in crisis situations who have experienced difficult events and have PTSD, including first responders. She also facilitates those who just want to feel happier, more peaceful, be more confident, have better relationships, and to be more successful in life. Often there is a past difficult event, trauma, or loss, that is holding the person back. When that is fully looked at and eventually released there is a freedom to live in the present with more success.

Beverley's Journey
On a personal level I have been on a long path of inner healing and personal growth. I have taken many workshops including Shamanic teachings, dealing with Separation and Divorce, moving on to find a higher purpose and  Ishaya Ascension Meditation. I completed the 1st year of the Shamanic Coaching Program with the Institute of Shamanic Medicine.

One of the most pivotal times in my life was the deep 7 year inner journey I took to heal and reclaim lost parts of myself with a very wise Aboriginal Counsellor named Eutonnah Olsen-Dunn. During that journey of love and beauty I went on many amazing travels to my “sacred place” of inner knowing and learned much about shamanic dream work, imagery and personal reclamation.
What I learned most besides the importance of love, was to always go inside first to seek answers.

This has been expanded greatly by learning Ishaya Ascension Meditation. Going inside, calming the mind and surrendering in trust to a higher power is what helps me most in my work and in life.  I have also done my own process in Traumatic Incident Reduction and Life Stress Reduction.  Both of these processes have led to more joy and contentment, more success, and improved relationships.

Services

I offer stress reduction techniques, help with anxiety, depression, anger,  PTSD, decisions about relationships, career, etc., and child hood issues.   Traumatic Incident Reduction techniques resolve emotional upsets and blocks from moving forward.  This may involve feelings about a loss, or a difficult, or traumatic event. The techniques help people find their own answers; attain more peace, clarity and insights, which leads to more happiness and success.  Find Out More >>
